Abdullahi Jaranow

Interim Principal

Abdullahi Jaranow serves as imam and counselor at the OBK Islamic Center.  He was born in Somalia and grew up in Seattle, Washington. Shaikh Abdullahi Jaranow has over a decade of expereince working as an imam, counselor, teacher and school principal in the Seattle region. His passion is to help young men and women find support and direction through a holistic approach, including education, spiritual and mental health services, and community building.
Shaykh Abdullahi Jaranow began his pursuit of Islamic knowledge in Seattle, WA, studying under local scholars, then traveled to Yemen at the age of 19 to further pursue sacred knowledge. He completed his Arabic language studies in one year, then his BA in Islamic Law (Shari’ah) at Al-Eman University in Yemen. He studied under numerous Islamic scholars in Yemen and Egypt from 2006-to 2013 and has received many formal certifications (ijazat). Shaikh Abdullahi Jaranow is a licensed Mental Health Counselor Assoicate (LMCH-A) in Washington state with BA degree in psychology  and MA in Applied Adolescent and Child Psychology from the University of Washington.

Ustadha Umm Amani

Ustadha Umm Amani has been teaching for a decade. Now, she has moved into an administrative role to support and empower our teachers, drawing from her extensive classroom experience to continue her mission of fostering a positive, growth-oriented environment for both students and staff, ensuring that everyone at our school can thrive.

Ustadha Aliyah

Homeroom Teacher
Ustadha Aliyah, holds a degree in Public Health and have a diverse background, including experience as a health educator, and mental health counselor, and three years of teaching. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Elementary Education “I’m excited to join the team and am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe that patience, empathy, and adaptability are essential qualities for a teacher, and I strive to foster curiosity and a love for learning in all my students. My goal is to help each student reach their full potential both academically and personally.”- Ustadha Aliyah
